Am WEF in Davos (Schweiz) trafen sich viele Staatsmänner (Obamas Truppe sagte kurzfristig die Teilnahme ab). Es wurde öffentlich gestritten und flotte Sprüche ins Mikro gesagt (z.B. Wen Jiabao forderte internationale Zusammenarbeit; Putin erinnerte an den Amerikaner, der am WEF 08 sagte, dass der Himmel über Wall Street wolkenlos sei). Wen Jiabao reiste übrigens weder mit dem Heli noch mit einer Carrosse von Bern nach Davos, sondern mit dem Zug!
Zur Finanzkrise meinte Stephen Roach (Morgan Stanley): «Wer sich gut benimmt, wird nicht belohnt. Wer sich schlecht benimmt, wird nicht bestraft.» Verdammt nochmal, gerade das bringen wir Eltern jedem Kind bei. Weshalb dürfen oder müssen die Mächtigen diese Grundregel eines gemeinschaftlichen Zusammenlebens nicht beachten?

Die Macht sitzt in Davos, das Weltsozialforum 2009 in Belém, Brasil. Als Gegenveranstaltung zum WEF brachte das wsf alle 5 linken Präsidenten Südamerikas an einen Tisch. «100,000 people marched in the city of Belem on the 27th of January, opening the 9th World Social Forum, the largest worldwide meeting of civil society movements, which started in Porto Alegre in 2001. More than 3000 indigenous people from the Amazon region joined the march, displaying their colors, cultures, and symbols. The ceremony culminated in the passage of the testimony from Africa (the location of the previous Forum) to Brasil, where many Quilombos communities - previously African slaves - live today.»
